anti-hacking system "Sentinel"

Technology pioneer John McAfee finally reveals its long-awaited enterprise intrusion detection system, “Sentinel”. The hack-proof Sentinel system is available on 1st November 2017, and comes out of the MGT firm that he set up.

The firm, where McAfee has now designed products, announced its commercial launch this week. Also, reveal each unit with a one-year monitoring subscription included in the price, will cost $2,499 (£1,884).

The Sentinel system monitors network traffic for suspicious activity using sophisticated algorithms to deploy countermeasures when threat happened. Sentinel claims to give corporate networks another layer of protection to add onto their existing firewalls, intruder detection systems and antivirus.

The testing period for Sentinel ongoing for roughly a year, with the initial batch released in advance to some users in October 2016.

In April this year, the company trails first run. It vulnerable to hacking on the "server and the sensor side," but believed to resolve.

MGT

According to MGT, when attackers scan your network, Sentinel appears to be low hanging fruit, attractive targets that will be easy to hack and exploit. Attempting to scan or hack sentinel will result in the administrator getting an alert via text message and email.

The administrator can then secure genuine resources on the network. Sentinel mitigates risk by greatly reducing the time a hacker must operate inside protected networks. Using information collected by Sentinel, the IT staff can take the appropriate action to determine the scope of the intrusion and resolve it quickly.

In August, the firm announced the completion of an investment deal worth $2.4m to support its bitcoin mining operations.

McAfee also develop an anti-surveillance mobile smartphone, which is scheduled to release in early 2018.
