Last week the suspension of 235,000 more pro-terrorism accounts by Twitter since February clearly indicates its serious anti-terrorism efforts. It has brought the total number of suspended accounts to 360,000 since 2015.

Twitter has also shown good progress in preventing the suspended identities for getting back quickly on its platform. After the recent terrorist attacks Twitter is putting in its sincere efforts to counter terrorism spreading through its platform.     

More teams equipped with better tools and language capabilities have been deployed to review reports round the clock. Twitter has joined hands with more organizations around the globe who are involved in working to counter online violent fanaticism. It includes True Islam in the United States; Parle-moi d'Islam in France; Imams Online in the UK; the Wahid Foundation in Indonesia; and the Sawab Center in the UAE.

Twitter officials are also attending programs organized by different governments on countering violent extremism.

 It’s difficult to analyze and assess Twitter’s real achievement in hindering or stopping online terrorism activities. 

At the same time, Obama administration is also being pushed hard to come up with some blueprint to stand against online terrorism.

Reports confirm that YouTube and Facebook have also introduced automated systems to block and remove fanatical/terrorist posts from the pages.
