Apple AirPods won't be coming out in October as originally promised. The company confirmed that the release of the new AirPods has been postponed.

Originally, the new Apple AirPods were set to hit stores in October, but that's not going to happen.

Apple did not say whether hardware or software updates are what is at the heart of the delay

"The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers," an Apple spokesperson told TechCrunch.

AirPods were first announced back in September at the iPhone 7 event where the $159 wireless earphones were previewed ahead of a ‘late October’ release.
