Red Hat Updated its OpenShift container platform. It includes an extended feature Service Catalog allows third-party vendors to establish connections to external or internal services.

The Expanded applications support Native Java builder for Spring Boot, WildFly Swarm, Vert.x, and other microservices frameworks. Also updated official Redis image and Software Collections Library content.

Security and Networking enhancements include UDP Multicast applications in the cluster. Kubernetes feature to control network traffic in the cluster. Enhancements to make SSL certificate deployment working with custom certificates even easier

Moreover, Most of the companies interested to move to containers platforms than virtual machines. In upcoming days there is an increase in usage of container platforms like OpenShift. The company mainly focusing on the container platforms due to other companies like Deutsche Bank, Volvo and United Health are varying their interests.

 



As the company increases its container open source it’s trying to build out the platform. To meet the needs of larger company IT departments. One of the things they’ve been hearing is that they want it to be easier to connect applications already in container to internal and external services.

In addition, the Service Catalog is not like pre-configured connectors in the applications store that developers can go in and find. This could be an internal connector to an Oracle database or an external one to a public cloud service from AWS or Azure (or anything else).
