HP releases high-end gaming laptop: Omen X

Omen X


HP introduces the latest high-end PC gaming, the Omen X laptop. The company introduced its first Omen brand in May 2016 comes with the launch of a desktop and two laptops focused on the mainstream gamers.

The symbol "X" is the segment of the OMEN brand for gamers. The new laptop has higher-end specs than the OMEN 15 and 17, offers an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or 1070. The X delivers the power with a factory-overclocked GTX 1080. Also, configurable with Intel"s 7th generation quad-core processors, HQ or HK-series.

The 17-inch display offered in 1080p (120Hz) and 4K flavors, both supports Nvidia"s G-Sync technology. Users can also connect multiple external displays, includes two Thunderbolt 3 ports. One HDMI 2.0a, supports HDR, which isn"t included in the main display), and a Mini DisplayPort.



According to HP, the Omen X laptop easy to upgrade storage and memory with a special access panel that uses Phillips-head screws to be removed, to replace the HDD, SSD, or RAM. However, the user won"t able to replace the GPU so easily.

The Omen X laptop supports full RGB lighting across eight different zones. These zones can highly customize through HP’s rebuild Omen Command Center, also used for treating network traffic, overclocking the CPU and memory on the fly, modifying the macro keys, and running a standard to see if the laptop is performing optimally.

The GTX 1070 comes with 16GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD / 1TB HDD for $1,999. The GTX 1080 comes with 4K display, 32GB of RAM, and 2 x 1TB of SSD storage / 1TB HDD for $3699. If user interested in a 4K display model with a GTX 1080 and 32GB of RAM priced at $2,349.
