Netgear has revealed its new Orbi Wifi system on Monday to help users to get rid of connectivity problem in dead spot areas of house. It is quite similar to using a network extender. Netgear claims that Orbi Wifi system comprising of a router and a satellite is capable of covering a home area of up to 4000 sq. ft. 

Orbi system is scheduled to be launched in September and is expected to be available at a price tag of US$ 400. Netgear is further planning to offer satellite add-ons as well for bigger houses to extend the coverage by additional 2000 sq.ft.   

The technical specs of the Orbi system provide a dedicated backhaul quad stream 1.7-Gbps 5-GHz band that connects the router and satellite with a single name or SSID for entire network for both WiFi bands i.e. 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. 

It offers 802.11ac AC3000 WiFi speeds of up to 3 Gbps. Both router and satellites have 4GB Ethernet ports and a 2.0 USB port. 

It also features IPv6, dynamic DNS, port forwarding, parental controls and access point mode. To keep its users safe Orbi is also offering advance WiFi security with automated updates, WPS-protected setup, 64/128 bit WEP, WPA/WPA 2 PSK and WPA/WPA-2 Enterprise.
