Chelsea's long-serving captain John Terry has been ruled out for around 10 days with strained ligaments in his foot and will miss Friday's Premier League clash with Liverpool.
The 35-year-old, who has played all four of Chelsea's league games this season, left the Liberty Stadium on crutches in the closing minutes of Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday.
John Terry's injury suffered in Sunday's game at Swansea is strained ligaments in his foot. He will be out for approximately 10 days," the club said in a statement on their website.
Conte was asked about the injury after the game, saying only that "I don't yet know how bad it is. Tomorrow he'll have tests to find out."
Terry later posted a video on his Instagram page of him receiving treatment, captioned: "Some late night work trying to get the swelling down."
The injury means Terry will also be ruled out for the west Londoners' EFL Cup tie with Leicester City on September 20th, but will hope to return for one of the league's fiercest derbies - Arsenal v Chelsea - on September 24.
Newly re-signed defender David Luiz has been on the bench since his return to Stamford Bridge and could slot straight into the side in Terry's absence.
