Oracle has agreed to acquire Palerra, a US based cloud security startup. As part of a strategy to provide customers comprehensive identity and security cloud services Oracle has made over 100 acquisitions to date.
Palerra’s innovative Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) product LORIC protects and assures compliance of applications, workloads and sensitive data stored across cloud services.
Palerra was founded in 2013 by two former Oracle executives, Rohit Gupta and Ganesh Kirti and was previously known as Apprity. It had raised $25 million from investors.
Palerra offers a Cloud Access Security Broker product called LORIC that offers a combination of visibility into cloud usage, data security, user behavior analytics, and security configuration, with automated incident responses.
Together, Oracle and Palerra will help accelerate cloud adoption securely by providing a comprehensive identity and security cloud services. The combination of Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDaaS) and Palerra’s CASB solution plan to deliver comprehensive protection for users, applications and APIs, data, and infrastructure to secure customer adoption of cloud.
Rohit Gupta one of the founders announced that, The Company will continue to serve its existing customers as well as work on more services for the future. Palerra customers included Pitney Bowes, VMware and Jefferies. It also has partnered with the likes of Microsoft.
