The largest hydroelectric power station known as The Three Gorges Dam in the world on Yangtze River located in Hubei province, China. It could be responsible for changing rotation of earth. Scientist have discovered that filling of reservoir behind the dam shows the phenomenon of slowing down the rotation of the earth.

If the Three Gorges Dam is filled to capacity at 574 above sea level, it will increase the Earth’s moment of inertia and slow its rotation increasing the length of day by 0.06 microseconds and it will also shift the pole position by two centimeters (0.8 inch).
