New article: Now Wi-Fi routers in home can detect members among family read more at here http://www.spinonews.com/index.php/science/item/3342-now-wi-fi-routers-in-home-can-detect-members-among-family

Most of the internet users have established their connection in homes with the Wi-Fi routers to browse differently in their personal mobile phones or devices, helps in managing time without waiting for other family member when browsing

Wi-fi routers make synonymous connections from different number of users where broadband is a complete single connection to the house. Wi-Fi build’s Wireless access points from your broadband connection. Hence you can connect it anywhere in your house. The research team have made numerous methods proposed for human identification face recognition, gait recognition, fingerprint identification, etc. While these methods could be very useful under different conditions, they also suffer from certain shortcomings user privacy, sensing coverage range. In this they proposed a technique for human identification establishes WIFI signals to enable non-intrusive human identification in domestic environments.

It is based on the observation that each person has specific influence patterns to the surrounding WIFI signal while moving indoors, regarding their body shape characteristics and motion patterns. The patterns can be captured by the Channel State Information (CSI) time series of WIFI. Specifically, a combination of Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Dynamic Time Warping (DTW) techniques is used for CSI waveform-based human identification. They have implemented the system in a smart home environment and recruited 9 users for data collection and evaluation. Experimental results indicate that the identification accuracy is about 88.9% to 94.5% when the candidate user set changes from 6 to 2, showing that the proposed human identification method is effective in domestic environments.

Each person differs in shape, size, and way of walking leaves a mark on the wave that’s picked up by the Wi-Fi receiver, it’s possible to determine mom and dad. When the researchers tested their algorithm on two people walking in a room between a router and a computer, they could discern between the two persons with a 95 percent accuracy. For six people, that accuracy dropped to 89 percent. Though the experiments were made with adult men and women, the Chinese researchers say their algorithm should pick up children as well.

Researchers made an algorithm that was nearly 95 percent accurate when attempting to detect two adults walking between a wireless router and a computer. For six people, accuracy fell to about 89 percent. Scientists tested the setup on men and women of various sizes, but it should work with children as well.
