Oculus, the virtual reality company owned by Facebook, is working on a new headset in an attempt to make the technology more affordable.

Mark Zuckerberg said the product is still in its prototype stage, but it will offer a standalone experience, without relying on a phone like Samsung's Gear VR or Google's Daydream, but won't be as expensive as a full Oculus Rift.
Earlier this week Google showed the first version of Daydream VR, its headset which is powered by mobile phone. And next week Sony is set to launch its PlayStation VR headset. It will work with the PlayStation 4 console, making it a considerably cheaper than the Oculus - though not as powerful.
There are two categories of VR headsets-those that require a mobile phone to operate, like the Samsung Gear VR headset, and those that need beefy personal computers to power them like the HTC Vive headset.
There were no details given a potential launch date but it would behoove Oculus to get this one out quickly. Know more details about Oculus Virtual Reality Headset here
