Twitter announced Thursday that it's shutting down Vine, a social network that lets users create and share short-form videos, “in the coming months.”
The company said,
Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today. We value you, your Vines, and are going to do this the right way. You’ll be able to access and download your Vines. We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made. You will be notified before we make any changes to the app or website.
The decision to shutter Vine comes as Twitter is in a state of flux after weeks of rumors about a possible sale. On Thursday, the company also announced a restructuring that will cut 9 percent of its workforce.
Rus Yusupov, founder of Vine, expressed his thoughts on Twitter with four words: "Don't sell your company!"

Twitter did not disclose why it was shutting down the service, but in a Medium post thanked Vine users.
Vine will notify you through the app or Twitter account when it start to change things.
