Facebook's app will be able to apply filters to live videos in real-time. Facebook demonstrated Prisma like photo filters for live video in a Live panel discussion hosted by the Wall Street Journal.
The main difference between Prisma and the app, showcased by Facebook at WSJDLive event, is that the latter applies the filters in real-time. While Prisma takes a few seconds to apply filters to both pictures and video clips.

Like Prisma, Facebook also takes existing technology and makes it faster. However, this is much faster than what Prisma could achieve as the processing is done at twenty four frames per second, in real time.
The application showcased was just a technical demonstration to show the capabilities of Facebook in terms of implementing artificial intelligence and realtime video processing.
Facebook's Chief Product Officer Chris Cox termed the app as "style transfer" app that essentially transfers the style of a particular painter to any moving image.
"We're making the camera a really nice creative tool, and that's the kind of thing we're very invested in right now," Chief Product Officer Chris Cox was quotes as saying.
Facebook did not mentioned whether the app is just meant to be a feature for live videos or will be introduced as a standalone app in itself. As of now, the list of filters that will be available with the feature has not been disclosed as well.
