Salesforce agreed to acquire San Francisco startup Krux for $700M. Salesforce disclosed in a regulatory filing that it's paying $340 million in cash and the remainder in stock for the company.

The Wall Street Journal first reported the agreement for the acquisition, which is now confirmed on Krux’s corporate website.  With this agreement, we are bringing together Salesforce’s #1 CRM platform with Krux’s category-leading data management platform (DMP), the Intelligent Marketing Hub™.  Krux said in ablog post

Krux is the latest in a series of companies Salesforce has bought over the past year. Salesforce has spent nearly $4 billion on acquiring companies like Demandware, Quip, and BeyondCore over the past 12 months, as well as making a failed bid to buy LinkedIn.

Salesforce is also rumored to be interested in buying Twitter. Salesforce has also recently invested in artificial intelligence services.

Krux is a marketing software company that specializes in data analysis and intelligence. it was Krux was founded in 2010 and had raised more than $48 million from outside investors.

Buying Krux will let Salesforce customers do advanced segmentation and audience management from within the Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SMC), social campaign management and social listening capabilities.
