Panoramio, the location-centric photo sharing service Google acquired in 2007, will show its last image on November 4.

Google used Panoramio to augment its Google Maps and Google Earth services with crowd sourced imagery.

“Today, with photo upload tools in Google Maps and our Local Guides program, we are providing easy options for you to share your photos with an active and growing community,” Google wrote in an email to Panoramio users today. “As such, we’ve decided to now close down Panoramio.”

Users who have linked their Panoramio and Google+ accounts, Google will automatically copy their images to a Google Album archive

In 2014, Google tried to scrap Panoramio. Facing more the wrath of more than 10,000 displeased petitioners, the company commuted Panoramio’s services stopped in 2015.

After November 4, 2016, you’ll continue to have access to your photos in Panoramio for a year, but you will no longer be able to add new photos, likes, or comments.

Link your Panoramio account with your Google+ account to automatically copy your photos to the Google Album Archive and continue to share your work in Google Maps.

If you delete any photos (or delete your entire account) before Panoramio is retired in November 2017, that content will not be automatically copied to the Google Album Archive and will stop appearing in Google Maps.
