Google has announced that it is making the developer preview of the Google Assistant SDK available, developers can create their own voice commands and responses that can control the local device.
Developers are also sent everything in text form, so their software can see what's going on and react to it. Currently, the Google Assistant is only available on some Android form factors and products directly from Google, like the Google Home.
Google product manager Chris Ramsdale, said, the Python-based SDK works with many hardware platforms, including the popular Raspberry Pi 3. Using Google’s gRPC API, developers also can integrate the Assistant into other hardware platforms and use languages like Java, C#, Node.js and Ruby.

The SDK is part of the approach taken to spread their intelligent assistants by companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Samsung beyond their own devices. Google also encourages developers to build a commercial product with the Google Assistant in collaboration with the company.
The Mountain View firm has also shown shared an example of how the Google Assistant SDK can be used for common things like a mock tails mixer which was implemented by Deeplocal, a studio based in Pittsburgh.
Google Assistant is now being slowly rolled out to all Android devices running Marshmallow and Nougat over the last few months, and also confirmed that the Google Assistant will be rolled out to Android Auto and Android TV.
