People buy smartphones with fondness if suddenly your smartphone screen get crashed you usually wait to buy a new phone or use old ones but now you don’t need to get worried a new development has come in the smartphone phone screen that itself heals its scratches

[Researchers segregate Liquids Using Visible Light]

Chemists Chao Wang at the University of California at Riverside has created a self-healing material that can conduct electricity, it especially more useful for cellphone screens and batteries. The material, which can stretch to 50 times its original size, is made of a stretchable polymer and an ionic salt. It possess a special type of bond called an ion-dipole which is a force between charged ions and polar molecules. This means that when the material breaks or has a scratch, the ions and molecules attract to each other to heal the material.

They conducted some experiments to test its ability of healing. Small piece of material has been cut and put some scratches on it. After 24hours it got attached and healed itself. Some smartphones already built with these material on its back covers and it can heal but it doesn’t conduct the electricity to use in making of screens. Scientists say that this new self-healing material will be used for phone screens and batteries by 2020.

"Within three years, more self-healing products will go to market and change our everyday life. It will make our cell phones achieve much better performance than what they can achieve right now." Mr Chao Wang said
