 A research have been taken up in the inflatable products that are used by children. They observed that children playable products are mostly inflatable.  Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging IVV in Germany has insisted and warned that inflatable pool toys contain hazardous substances.

A small piece of material from each sample was analyzed and it was concluded that the inflatable objects were all made with polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

PVC is the world's third-most widely produced synthetic plastic. Previous studies have shown that the manufacture of PVC releases dioxins which is considered to be a potent carcinogen and may cause a wide range of health effects.  According to the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), vinyl chloride, the chemical used to make PVC, has been recognized as a known human carcinogen.

Inflatable toys includes different types based on children use in pools some of the toys have a come with a distinctive smell is hazardous substances that are likely to increase the risk of cancer as well as other health issues in kids, researchers have found. Toys are made up of some substances like carbonyl compounds, cyclohexanone, phenol and isophorone, these compounds are dangerous in higher concentration in the toys.

The compound Cyclohexanone is critically injurious to health when inhaled, phenol is known to be toxic and mutagenic. Mutagenic is a physical or chemical agent that changes the genetic material potential and isophorone is a carcinogenic substance leads to the development of cancer in humans, the researchers said. The researchers have found between 32 and 46 odours in each sample, of which up to 13 were highly concentrated.
